🛠️ Dev Log - 18/10/2024
Hi, I'm Mecha, and here's the latest update on my project:
🎨 ATB Bar Changes
- Bar Color: The ATB bar is now blue. Initially, I wanted to use red for the menus, but most of my assets are blue. Changing everything to red at this stage of the jam would take too much time. Visual test in progress! 🟦
- Enemies and Characters: All enemies and characters are now framed to appear in the ATB bar. Ready for action!
💥 Improved Animations
- Hits and Deaths: I've adjusted the face animations of my characters when they get hit and die! 🎭
⚔️ Weapon Sprites
- Sprite Addition: I’ve added sprites for the main weapons and some that are found in the castle. Battles have never looked better!
🔧 Animation Fixes
- Game Over Animation: I fixed an issue where the map animation would display upon death. The solution was a bit clumsy (teleporting the character to a black screen with no map), but it worked! 🖤
🌌 Next Steps
- Magispheres and Equipment: Tomorrow I’ll start incorporating sprites for the soul gear. The souls will be inside spheres called magispheres. From there, I’ll proceed to create the gear! 💫
- New Ability: I'd like to implement a powerful shooting ability with the bow. This technique will deal a lot of damage but will require a charge turn and be inaccurate. 🎯
- Mapping and Scenes: I’ll finish the mapping and connect everything. Then, I’ll work on the character scenes, even though I’m feeling a bit lazy... but it has to be done! 😅
💤 Didn’t Do Much Today Fatigue got the better of me today! But I promise to give the project a bigger push on Saturday and Sunday. Let's go! 💪
